Identify user logged onto the webportal within workflow

Is there a mechanism whereby a Knime server workflow, being executed by user X on the webportal, can identify user X?

For example, the workflow collects some experimental metadata from user X, and also is able to associate that metadata, which the workflow writes to a database table, with user X (e.g., ‘johnsmith’ from ‘johnsmith@company.com’).

This is for the purpose of attribution.
