In a new reporting component (Knime AP 5.4) all Text Views are rendered, even if some are unused in the component page design. The unused text view is added to the bottom of the page/design.
I believe in Layout Editot there’s a tab to the very left where you can „uncheck“ a view / widget etc so that it is not rendered.
Alternatively you can connect anything you don’t need to an inactive branch via case switch with flow variable…

Hi Martin,
the unused separate “Text View” nodes do not appear in the node Usage tab and therefore cannot be disabled there. Even if everything is disabled in that Tab, the “Text View” node still appears at the bottom of the page. Im my use-case the “unused” text view node is required to create the structure that is subsequently modified (to add formatting options that the text view node is not supporting)…

I found a Solution: The unused View is hidden in a new Component one level deeper (set flow variables to pass through). This new component can be seen in the Node Usage tab in the Layout Editor, and therefore be disabled.
thank you so much and great you found the workaround. Will check it out on my end - maybe worthwhile opening a bug report in Feedback and Ideas… can’t think of a reason why a text view cannot be disabled, if other widgets etc. can…
