# cant connect to AWS athena connector - While AWS athena connector (Legacy ) is working with some modification !!

cant connect to AWS athena connector - While AWS athena connector (Legacy ) is working with some modification !!  
I guess drive causing prob !!

Hi there @navinjadhav,

if I got it right difference between new and legacy Athena connector is that new one uses pre-built driver while for legacy you need to register your own. So if you want to connect to Athena with your own driver use [DB Connector](https://kni.me/n/0oD8015Fv-UmISSY) node. At least that is advice from [Amazon Athena Connector](https://kni.me/n/2C9b4kBscRLvFL-D) node description…

Hi,  
can you share more information about what problems you face?  
We had to restrict the driver for the _Athena Connector_ to have it work together with the _Amazon Authentication_ node. However as Ivan already stated if you need to use your own driver you can use the _DB Connector_ node.
