Command line application wrapper

Stanage here again,

I am now getting to grips with KNIME, but am coming across a couple of frustrations, have you a node where I can wrap a command line application, which I can then call to do some external processing, and the output file passed back into the pipeline?

Thanks.

Stanage,

I've sent you a personal email, let me know if you didn't get it.
- Peter.

Hi

I wondering the same question (can I do anything like that in the Java Snippet node?). Is it possible to get the same mail?

Hi Peter!

Like tassel and stanage, I've come over similar problems now.
I was looking for a node in which I can integrate a script to edit external data or have acces to the command line to execute the script indirectly.
I'd be happy to receive a copy of that mail aswell or if someone had some advice in this forum?

Thanks for that!

Elke

(Peter, wenn du magst, schreib ruhig in deutsch :) )

If it's still being provided, I would also greatly appreciate a copy of the "command-line wrapper" node.

Thanks,
-greg

Hi Greg,

I've sent you a pm let me know if you can't read it.

Due to requests from many people we are going to release the ExtToolNode soon. There is still an issue with the output of the external tool (see ExtToolNode Thread). The fix is in the works.

- Peter.

Alright, the external tool node is out there.
For all that are interested in trying it out, it is there:
http://knime.org/download_extensions.html#extTool

And, while we were at it, we are throwing in an XLS writer as well:

Regards,
- Peter.

Hi Peter,

Sorry for the slow reply, I was on vacation until this week and am still getting caught up.

Thanks for doing a public release of the external tool node. Though it's clearly not the optimal solution, it does provide a good bridge.
