Credentials not available for Database Writer node

I've defined workflow credentials. I can use them in Database Reader nodes but not in Database Writer nodes. If I start configuring such a node I get the following warning message on the KNIME Console: No credentials provider set, using empty list. BTW I'm using KNIME 2.7.4

Hello, 

This seems to work for me so we must be doing something differently.  Have you tried the example on our examples server?  If not, that might help.  Otherwise, feel free to post an example here and I will investigate further.
