Does KNIME run on Multiple Cores?

Hi,
I work with some very large tables (750 Mio Rows, 60 Cols) on a 4 Core Workstation (Windows 10). When I run a string manipulation node only one core is used and so the process takes a while. First I thought, that disk operations (swapping) are limiting, but no it seems to be the CPU Power.
So… Is there a way to enable multi-core processing in the settings?

Many nodes will automatically parallelise across multiple cores. If not, try surrounding one more nodes with a parallel chunk loop start / end node pair.
