'Driver "sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver" does not accept URL' when connecting to remote Oracle database

Hi,

I am getting 'Driver "sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver" does not accept URL' when connecting to a remote Oracle database (on a different server).

I know nothing about how to connect to a database with Java - can someone please give a step-by-step guide?

I have installed the Oracle Instant client on my PC, and this works ok with an application called Toad that I use to administer the database.  I've also connected to the Oracle database using other languages, e.g. Perl.

Many thanks,

Mark Taylor.

You need to register your Oracle driver (e.g. ojdbc14.jar) first inside the KNIME Preference page under Database Driver and then select the correct Driver together with the right syntax for the database URL for Oracle:

Driver: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@<server>:1527:<database>
