Error messages while installing extensions on MacBooks

I am working with KNIME (5.3.2) in my lecture and two students with MacBook get the following error messages when they try to install extensions (Database, Java Script Views).
Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

The first error message as text:
An error occurred while configuring the installed items
session context was:(profile=KNIMEProfile,
phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Configure,
operand=null → [R]org.knime.product.macosx.configure
5.3.2.1725442302139,
action=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.touchpoint.natives.actions.CopyAction).

Hello @Christian_Essen,

Can you explain how did they start the KNIME AP? Starting KNIME from installation volume can mess up the paths being referred to the temporary directories. Upon discussing internally (with @stelfrich), our suggestion is to copy the application to the /Applications folder and start KNIME from there.

Should the problem persists, then a fresh installation would be needed to fix the path references.

Thank you

Best,
Ali
