How to Join the Excel Sheet Appender to the Constant Value Column Filter

Hi,
I am trying to join the Excel Sheet Appender XLS to the Constant Value Column Filter but it will not allow me to connect the two. How can I accomplish this?

The Excel Sheet Appender does not have an outgoing port. You might only connect it to a flow variable. Maybe you could elaborate more on what you want to do.

It would be better to add a sample workflow for the solution proposal.

I decided to break up my workflow into separate tasks rather than trying to do everything in one long working flow.
