Installation error

I'm trying to install Knime on my Mac and I receive an error that says 'Incompatible JVM - Version 1.6.0_65 of the JVM is not suitabke for this product. Version 1.8 or greater is required.'

I've been googling all day and I can't find a solution. I've installed the latest version of JVM and still it doesn't work. I'm running MacOS Sierra version 10.12.3.

Hi,

Can you please check which Java version is installed on your machine? To do so, go to System Preferences and click on the Java icon to access the Java Control Panel.

I have the same problem, check the attached screenshots
