Joiner Error - Memory is low

Dear all,
every time I do a join (even a small one with 100 records) I receive this warn:
WARN Joiner Memory is low. I have no chance to free memory. This may cause an endless loop.

I am using Knime 3.5.3 on Windows Server 2016 with 128 GB of RAM.

How is it possible?
Thanks
Regards

Do you have any news regarding this problem?
Thanks in advance
Regards

Hi @iiiaaa,

Did you increase the memory available to KNIME in the knime.ini?

Cheers,

Christian

Hi Christian,
many thanks for your answer. This is the INI configuration of my Knime 3.5.3 on Windows Server 2016 with 128 GB of RAM:

-startup
plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.3.200.v20160318-1642.jar
–launcher.library
plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.win32.win32.x86_64_1.1.400.v20160518-1444
–launcher.defaultAction
openFile
-vm
plugins/org.knime.binary.jre.win32.x86_64_1.8.0.152-01/jre/bin
-vmargs
-server
-Dsun.java2d.d3d=false
-Dosgi.classloader.lock=classname
-XX:+UnlockDiagnosticVMOptions
-XX:+UnsyncloadClass
-Dsun.net.client.defaultReadTimeout=0
-XX:CompileCommand=exclude,javax/swing/text/GlyphView,getBreakSpot
-Xmx60000m
-Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.IEVersion=10001
-Dsun.awt.noerasebackground=true
-Dequinox.statechange.timeout=30000

I have the same message even if I run the workflow (for example the “Data Blending” workflow provided by Knime as an Example Workflow) on my local PC with Knime 3.6 and on Window 7 with 8 Gb of RAM and the following INI configuration:

-vm
plugins/org.knime.binary.jre.win32.x86_64_1.8.0.152-01/jre/bin
-startup
plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.4.0.v20161219-1356.jar
–launcher.library
plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.win32.win32.x86_64_1.1.551.v20171108-1834
–launcher.defaultAction
openFile
-vmargs
-server
-Dsun.java2d.d3d=false
-Dosgi.classloader.lock=classname
-XX:+UnlockDiagnosticVMOptions
-XX:+UnsyncloadClass
-Dsun.net.client.defaultReadTimeout=0
-XX:CompileCommand=exclude,javax/swing/text/GlyphView,getBreakSpot
-Xmx4044m
-Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.IEVersion=10001
-Dsun.awt.noerasebackground=true
-Dequinox.statechange.timeout=30000

What can I do?
Thanks in advance
Regards

Hi @iiiaaa,

I think you don’t have to do anything. I guess the Joiner node successfully executes? Sometimes we’re a bit over cautious with those warning messages. I’ll double-check with our developers, but I think you should be fine if the results show up as desired.

Cheers,

Christian

Thanks for the answer. Yes, the joiner node successful execute.
