Dear Knime Development Team,
first off, I was really thrilled when I stumbled upon your software when searching for scientific workflow management systems. Me and my colleagues use Eclipse daily. When I tried to install KNIME from http://www.knime.org/update/2.5/ on Eclipse 3.7, I got the following error:
Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.
Software being installed: KNIME Core 2.5.2.0032293 (org.knime.features.base.feature.group 2.5.2.0032293)
Software currently installed: Eclipse SDK 3.7.2.M20120208-0800 (org.eclipse.sdk.ide 3.7.2.M20120208-0800)
Only one of the following can be installed at once:
ECF Filetransfer API 4.0.0.v20100529-0735 (org.eclipse.ecf.filetransfer 4.0.0.v20100529-0735)
ECF Filetransfer API 5.0.0.v20110531-2218 (org.eclipse.ecf.filetransfer 5.0.0.v20110531-2218)
Cannot satisfy dependency:
From: Equinox p2 Core Function 1.0.1.v20110906-1605-8290FZ9FVKHVRKtmx3fpNuo02129 (org.eclipse.equinox.p2.core.feature.feature.group 1.0.1.v20110906-1605-8290FZ9FVKHVRKtmx3fpNuo02129)
To: org.eclipse.ecf.filetransfer [5.0.0.v20110531-2218]
I searched a bit and found this thread http://tech.knime.org/forum/knime-general/eclipse-indigo-v37-and-knime wherein the poster tried to install KNIME 2.4 to an existing Eclipse installation. Also, I found http://tech.knime.org/forum/knime-developers/eclipse-37. Since there have not been any replies, I wondered if the compatibility situation changed in the meanwhile.
Now my actual question: Is there a way that I can resolve this issue myself? Could you give me hints on where to start? Does it even work with the KNIME 2.5 using a different approach?
Thank you very much and Best Regards,
Michael Bach
