After installation of new KNIME it suppose to install missed on installation components when you open corresponding WF, and install them. It does, unless you have a component in WF.

do you mean missed extension doesn’t get installed if node from it is inside component? If not can you explain it a bit more?

Yes, Ivan. Node inside component does not install necessary extension automatically.

I have just tried it out and get prompted upon workflow opening. If I got it right you don’t? (I have added Tika Parser into Component and uninstalled Text Processing Extension.)
Did I got it right? If so is it some specific extension or every?

I’ve got the prompt but installation failed. The missing component was for Column Expression. I have local files for installation (network sources are unchecked).

I have just tried installing Column Expressions using Local Update Sites with KNIME version 4.2.3 and works as expected. Both when Column Expressions is inside and outside of Component while opening workflow. In which part installation failed?

Thank you, Ivan for checking. Instead of installation I’ve got a message and exclamation mark on the component. Inside component was a red node for unresolved Column Expression.
