KNIME 5.1.2, Windows Explorer Stops Responding

Just upgraded from KNIME 4.7 to 5.1.2. I’m loving the new features and UI but have noticed that when KNIME 5.1.2 is running the Windows Explorer on my machine becomes un-responsive. When I close KNIME Windows Explorer works normally.

I do not have this problem with KNIME 4.7.

Has anyone else noticed this or having the same problem?

That’s quite strange. I haven’t heard of anyone else having this issue, so I assume it’s something specific to your machine. Thinking out loud - is it a corporate laptop? Do you use an antivirus, and if so is knime.exe on the exclusion list? What version of Windows?

It’s an AWS EC2 instance running Windows Server 2019. I have a few other EC2s and one of them is also experiencing this but it doesn’t have KNIME on it. I suspect they’re trying to connect to a LAN share that doesn’t exist. Most likely just a coincidence that I noticed this when I upgraded to 5.1.2.
