Knime 5.4 crashes on Linux Mint 22

I can’t get 5.4.0 running. Tried on LM 21 and LM 22. I have a log on problems with JRE

Do you mind sharing the logs?!

Thanks for the sharing the logs.

@marzukim, updating the locally installed JRE will mostly likely not help as KNIME Analytics Platform comes with its own version of Java [1].

@cgand, the log file hints at an incompatibility of the native Tableau libraries with your system. If you aren’t using the Tableau extension, you can uninstall them. If you are not able to (due to the problem we are discussion here), you can either start over with a fresh install or uninstall via command line. I’m using Linux Mint myself and don’t see the problem. Maybe it’s also because you run quite old hardware (4GB RAM, a processor that is at least 13 years old) – which is also a reason why I wouldn’t research this further unless others users also run into the same problem (and then we need to file a ticket with Tableau/Salesforce; this is not a KNIME problem).

Thanks! I’m aware of the old hardware. Created a new LM 22 partition and started 5.4 witch worked fine until I restarted KNIME after install of some extensions. New crash!

… and did you also install the Tableau extension as part of that? (Don’t)

I didn’t made updates on LM 22 before I tried 5.4
