Hi all,

With new KBH version, when you start a Data Apps, it opens in the same tab.
We were used to have it in a new tab.

Would it be a good idea to get the choice of the default behavior?
Especially when working with many different Data Apps.

Thanks a lot for your feedback! To better understand how we can improve the user experience, could you share a bit more about how opening data apps in a new tab helps you?

In the meantime, here are a few ways you can already open data apps in a new browser tab:

  • Mac: Hold Cmd and click the data app link with your mouse/trackpad

  • Windows: Hold Ctrl and click the data app link with your mouse/trackpad

  • Middle mouse button click (press down the scroll wheel) on the data app link

  • Right-click on the data app link and choose “Open Link in New Tab”

Thanks for coming back.

I think, staying in the same tab works - it is just that users were used to a different behavior, that suddenly changed.

I think, giving the choice to the admin to define the default opening method in the admin console might be great.

We have many users using multiple data apps in parallel. Therefore, they prefer to open as a new tab instead of the same - it is easier to switch between the data apps. As they are doing that by default, it would be a greater user experience for them not needing to click on CTRL.
