KNIME crashes on Linux 32 bit

Hi,

Last year I have problems with KNIME on Linux. KNIME crashes often without any error messages. As I see, crash happens when I close or open configure dialogs. I try to work with Ubuntu, Mint, Mandriva but I see the same, so, I think, it's not Linux problems.

Here the part of lof file before last crash, when I try to open Color Manager with double click:

Hi Max,

Do you find any logs in your home directory or the working directory? These are usually called hs_err_pid<xyz>.log.

Unfortunately we have heard of very sporadic crashes on linux (in fact, just installed KNIME on Ubuntu 12.04 and had a crash, too). However, these problems don't seem to be connected to any particular linux system but to the window manager being used. In particular the 3D cutting edge window manager (gnome 3, compiz, unity) seem to be problematic. Maybe you want to try a different one if you run any of these.

The problem we ran into recently is this one: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=345979 Maybe it's the same for you? Supposedly fixed in a newer eclipse version (we'll review it and maybe use that as a baseline for future KNIME versions, not for 2.6 though).

Regards,
  Bernd
