Hi,
For some of us it is more and more sobering, when ideas in the forum, that are voted for, get lost or are not visible anymore. And very often there is no feedback at all from the KNIME team (see some feedback from others to this topic) which doesn’t improve the situation.
So I’d suggest to split this category into
- Ideas that get feedback from the team and maybe a rough lookout what they think about the idea.
- Real bugs, or questions or general feedback should be gathered in another category, where these two different topics are not mixed up at all. Why should we vote on a bug at all?
Why the separation?
There are a lot of really good ideas, that have a lot of votes, however get lost in the huge amount of bugs, feedback, etc for others. This way, it would make it easier to search for ideas in one category, and issues and problems in the other one.
I do understand, that there is a commercial support as well, for most of the users this forum is the only source where we get help and support though. Please keep in mind, there is no open bug tracker or something similar at all – so this is the only source to post ideas and bugs at the same time!
So, long story short: how about separating bugs and ideas (enhancements) in two different categories and please give feedback, what you (the team) think about it, and if or when there is a very rough deadline we can look forward to. Or if that is something, that won’t or can’t be considered at all (in the near future ![]()
Thanks
