KNIME hangs on Debian / XRDP

Hi everyone,

I am currently using KNIME 2.8.1 on Debian 7, connecting via XRDP. For most parts, the application is running fine, but occasionally (not reproducibly) freezes up when opening new windows, e.g. when configuring a node. Top shows the knime java process at 100% CPU. Running nodes do complete, you can see them eventually turn green in the UI. The window I was trying to open does not appear, however, and the UI does not react to any input. The log file only shows an error message which seems to be related to the node description view, but still might be related:

org.eclipse.swt.SWTException: Widget is disposed

        at org.knime.workbench.helpview.FallbackBrowser.getDisplay(FallbackBrowser.java:151)

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and best regards,

Torsten

We have also noticed similar behaviour in the past when using Java/Eclipse over remote connections. Only NX seems to work quite reliably.
