When I try to install new Plugins in the 2.8 SDK using Help > Install new Software, the Eclipse SDK just hands with a beachball. The same behaviour on two of my Macs, didn't have the chance to check on different platforms yet, though. With the regular KNIME Desktop 2.8, I have no issues.
With the old 2.7.4 SDK, everything works fine. Tried with a clean workspace, but that doesn't help either.
Anybody experiencing the same problem? Any advice?
I've had a similar issue on one of my KNIME setups. I think I worked arround the issue by turning off a number of the available sites that were listed. Not checking eclipse update sites for example.

Thank you for the comments; I am currently at home, so no proxy/firewall/etc.
I disabled all update sites via preferences. I am then able to open the "Install new Software..." window. Then I entered the community contributions URL, Eclipse freezes.
I asked a colleage to check. No problems on Linux.
Accessing the update site via Web browser works fine.
I (more or less accidentally) hit "Check for Updates" in the menu. After it checked and no updates were found, I am now able to contact the KNIME update site again. Quite mysterious.
