To me it would make sense if the List Files node would always (or optionally) list files in alphabetical (ascending) order, but it does not do that right now (at least not under Ubuntu 16.04 LTS). I believe this would be a useful enhancement.

in principal, yes this would be a nice idea, but it is a little bit against how our nodes are working.
If we add a sorting, we model what the sorter node anyway does. And we can only add one way of sorting. e.g. by the full path. But if you want to sort for the filename, you anyway need additional nodes.
