Merging images with the GroupBy node isn't working anymore, or am I missing something? I attach a workflow trying to merge 3 images (same dimension, same pixel type) into a 3d objects. It keeps only the first image.

You encounterd a known bug (https://github.com/knime-ip/knip/issues/419) which has already been fixed on the nightly build. You can find instructions on how to access it here: https://tech.knime.org/wiki/knime-image-processing-nightly-build.
An update to KNIP will be released in the near future.
