Problems with updating knime

I am trying to update knime, but get the massage

"Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
  Software being installed: KNIME R Scripting extension 3.1.103.v201604250902 (de.mpicbg.tds.knime.scripting.r.feature.feature.group 3.1.103.v201604250902)
  Missing requirement: RSnippet-Node extension for KNIME Workbench 3.1.103.v201604250902 (de.mpicbg.knime.scripting.r 3.1.103.v201604250902) requires 'bundle org.eclipse.ui [3.107.0,4.0.0)' but it could not be found
  Cannot satisfy dependency:"

Can anybody help me with this ?

It looks like you are trying to install extension for KNIME 3 into KNIME 2. If this is true, then please use the correct community contributions update site for your KNIME version.

I am using the "check for updates" .. ? is there a better way to do it ?

And yes i am trying to update KNIME 2 to KNIME 3

An update from KNIME 2 to 3 is not possible. You need a fresh installation.
