reading select portions of an image

In several image viewer/analysis tools using Bioformats (like KNIME) it is possible to define the region of the image that you want to read. In ImageJ this is the Crop function of the Bioformats importer.

Is this possible in KNIME. Large images can currently either not be read or performance is impacted due to lack of resources. I’m trying to find a way to insert specific x,y coordinates of the pixels to be read or to read the image in tiles.

Tiling or cropping the image after reading is readily possible. However, reading in only select portions of the images is not evident.

That’s something I’d like to have as well, but I don’t think it’s possible yet with the Image Reader.
