How can I have the columns I selected in a scatter plot node stay selected after reset and re-executing the node? It's very frustrating to have to reselect the correct columns every time the work-flow is re-executed.

You are right, KNIME Views currently don't store their settings and those need to be re-adjusted whenever you open a new view. We have this on our missing-feature-list and currently discussing solutions. However, you might want to check out the JFreeChart nodes in the Views category where you can pre-select the settings within the dialog.
