My solution to the challenge:
I tried to keep my solution open source, so I didn’t use OpenAI for the challenge, so I just used Hugging Face (with python views). As there was no image editing model that I could run in the cloud on HF (and I do not have the necessary space on my laptop, and additionally it would be real complex locally) I used a different branch where I defined really accurately (or at least I tried) what I want to see on the pictures.
The different styles:
Looking for your feedbacks (or some not so complex way to do the image editing open source)
And just one additional thing: As I hardcoded my API key to the solution I deactivated it, so my workflow cannot be reseted (or you should insert your own key, it’s free on Hugging Face)
Greetings…another challenging JustKnimeIt challenge. This is my first time utilizing generative AI nodes on KNIME and definitely had to leverage other workflows on this thread. I have seen Roberto’s videos on this topic and was interested to learn this topic…well here is my chance.

I was not able to generate any images with the OpenAI and I believe it’s related to having a Free Trial with respect to API on OpenAI. But it was a good challenge nonetheless.
Hi @garcbcpa
To use the API, you need to verify the organization. See the documentation here: https://help.openai.com/en/articles/10910291-api-organization-verification
Challenge 5 – Interior Design with GenAI
KNIME Architects – powered by GenAI
Our motto? No walls were moved. Just minds.
Just submitted my KNIME-powered design proposal for Emma’s client…
My solution to JKI4-5
Room redesigns?
AI-generated photorealistic visuals?
Interpretations ranging from minimalist calm to Archistars (Zaha Hadid, Daniel Libeskind) level geometry?
All this while keeping the furniture in place — because budgets, gravity, and relationships matter.
And speaking of relationships: as an engineer who just bought a house, this challenge was suspiciously close to my real life. Let’s just say… Emma’s client was easygoing. My wife? Likely less so.
So yes, I may have built the workflow — but it looks like I’ll need it again, very soon, at home… and for all the rooms… version 2.0 of the workflow is already in the backlog.
Hi everyone,
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to experiment with OpenAI . However, thanks to @berti093, I developed a solution for the challenge using a free HuggingFace model and inference API (though it lacks image editing capabilities).

Hi @trj thanks for the documentation. I was hoping not to add a payment method as a mechanism to verify the organization. I’m already paying for ChatGPT Plus and didn’t want to incur more charges.
Hello @ KNIMErs
Here is my take on JKI S04 - CH05 ; this is my first use case with ‘OpenAI Image Generator’ node. I’ve had to learn from you guys, starting from the beginning with @roberto_cadili ‘s no so nice apples’ workflow … thx for the challenge by the way.
Once verified my ‘Organization ID’ within OpenAI, and put some budget on it; I could deliver some results for Emma’s assignment, I hope she is currently evaluating to hire me for this job . I’ve tested both models, and I felt more comfortable by using ‘GPT Image 1’.
Happy KNIMEing
Thank you @berti093 for sharing the hugging face text-to-image model. It’s my first time doing image generation, so this was really helpful!! Therefore also no image editing from me, but I used variables to select the room type, input the standard furniture items and change the styling. I also created a component configuration so that the hugging face token can be added by individual users.

This challenge was really great fun! I think I will definitely use it for some interior design in the future!
