SQL Server Connection

Hi,
I have setup a SQL server and I want to connect to it through KNIME. I used Microsoft SQL server Connection node but it gives me Login Timed Out error. I can access the server remotely through SQL Server Management Studio but not through KNIME.
It would really be great if any one can help on this.

Hi @mohini1329 , it would be useful to know if you are using windows authentication or sql server authentication, but I’m not sure if that will have an impact on what you are seeing.

Given it is a login timeout, and assuming you have the hostname configured correctly, I suspect it is more to do with having the correct port number configured.

Take a look at this thread. Unfortunately we never found out if it resolved the issue there, but might be worth checking…

Knime to SQL Express with dynamic Port

Hi I have to connect to a MS SQL Express db with dynamic ports configured. With the SQL Management Studio I can access the db, but with Knime I always get the error “Login time out” Ok, I already read, that I have to specify a port for connection to a SQL express db, but I also read, that with 4.1 dynamic ports were introduced. I use 4.3.3. It doesn’t matter if I use the “db connector” or the “MS SQL connector”. May you give me some tips and hints to get this connection done!? Thanks in adv…
