STARTTLS command for incoming emails

Hi,

To access our IMAP server the client (or node) must be able to use the STARTTLS command. The email connector node has no option for STARTTLS for incoming emails. I tried to execute it without that, but it gave an error. Is there another node that I can use?

Hey there,

The Email Connector Node has a setting in the “Outgoing” tab:

That made it work for me.

Thank you! When you set the outgoing mail server settings, does it work for incoming emails too? I tried, but it did not work for me- for the incoming emails.

I just read through the documentation and I think I misunderstood the purpose of the options under Connection Type:

That said even when Incoming & Outgoing is selected and you hover over Connection Security Info button it still indicates that STARTTLS only applies to outgoing connection.

It is also not 100% clear to me what the check box “Use secure protocol” does - but for now assume it does not do STARTTLS but rather SSL or TLS…

So from what I read I conclude that it is probably not working with incoming mail connection :frowning:
