String replace

I have a problem where i will compare address in 2 fields and report for mismatch of address.
The 2 address fields have same data with differences that should be ignored

Example
STREET : ST : ST.
LANE : LN : LN.
CIRCLE : CIR
PLACE : PL
AVENUE : AVE : AVE.
DRIVE : DR : DR.
BLVD : BLVD.
NORTH : N
EAST : E
SOUTH WEST : SW: S.W

so the address in both fields use different formats and they should not be in the mismatch report as
STREET, ST, ST. are the same
how do we achieve this
i tried using column expressions, it is taking only one expression per column.
like i have to use one column expression for Street, one for circle,…

also for few participants, i have 3 address fields and 3rd address field is blank for most participants.
when i try to add column expressions, it throws error for blank address fields

See if this gets you started.

Thank you @freigel, I will try that

i am trying to use this syntax and it fails
can anyone please help

IF (contains(column(“Split Value 1”),“STREET”))
{
regexReplace(column(“Split Value 1”),“STREET”,“ST”)
}
else if (contains(column(“Split Value 1”),“CIRCLE”) )
{
regexReplace(column(“Split Value 1”),“CIRCLE”,“CIR”)
}
else
{“”}

The opening if statement should be written in lower case.
