May I suggest to modify how the temp folder is being used?
Currently I see thousands of files being created in one directory. This has serious impact on the performance. Also, if KNIME crashes those files are not being removed. I believe it might be a good idea to create a KNIME-session-ID directory and then underneath for each node that uses the tmp folder its own folder…
