Unable to access the knime update sites for installing extensions

I get the following error when i try to install knime extensions

I was able to install extensions easily until recently but now it seems my company’s IT department has made some changes in the network settings and I am getting this error. I contacted the IT department; I don’t know whether they understood the problem, but they advised me that security certificates may need to be added for the issue to get resolved. I am not sure how that is done. can someone please help me? BTW I get this error when I try to access the examples

it seems I am unable to access the knime servers in the background. Please suggest a solution.

This is very likely caused by a proxy that is needed to establish the connection to the internet.

You have to get the proxy settings from your IT department and configure it within the KNIME Analytics Platform.

You should get an other error message if this would be caused by missing certificates.
