Unable to connect to My-KNIME-Hub

Hi,
The very first time I tried to connect, I saw the login screen in Chrome, - but when I clicked to log in, I got a “500 Internal Server Error.” Now, whenever I try to connect, I just see the 500. I’ve tried clearing cookies, rebooting, etc. to no avail.

Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks,
Leander

Hi @LeanderQuiring -

I tried just now to see if it’s a problem with our web site, but it’s working for me. Let me ask someone internally about possible solutions.

Hi @LeanderQuiring -

Are you still experiencing problems here? If so, have you been able to apply the KNIME AP 4.1 update?

Hi Scott,
With 4.1, when I try to use “Double click to connect to KNIME Hub”, nothing happens. Same thing with the Examples server, also at hub.knime.com. However, I can access that URI through Chrome just fine.

With 4.0.1, double-clicking to access the KNIME Hub still has the previous behaviour (getting a 500 error)

In 3.7.2 I can access the examples server (public-server.knime.com)

Did the mechanism to access hub.knime.com change in 4.1? At this point, I assume that it’s at least partially something on my IT’s side (e.g. getting the knime executable whitelisted in our antimalware suite).

Hi @LeanderQuiring,

Sorry you’re having trouble accessing Hub and Examples in 4.1. When Hub was added in 4.0, the public examples changed over from public-server.knime.com to hub.knime.com, but there weren’t any additional changes made from 4.0.1 to 4.1.

Question. Can you clarify on the behavior when you attempt to access the Examples? You said you double click, but get a 500. Is there any additional output or stack-trace in AP’s logs?

Hi jtyler,
No problem. In 4.1, now that you ask, there is this entry appear after I double-click in the Explorer pane:
2019-12-10 16:13:26,140 : DEBUG : main : : WorkflowMetaView : : : Received unexpected file info type: class org.knime.workbench.explorer.filesystem.MessageFileInfo

In 4.0.1, performing the same action, I get this:
> 2019-12-10 16:17:01,444 : DEBUG : main : : WorkflowMetaView : : : Received unexpected file info type: class org.knime.workbench.explorer.filesystem.MessageFileInfo
> 2019-12-10 16:17:03,211 : DEBUG : Thread-17 : : OAuthAuthenticator : : : Login to ‘https://api.hub.knime.com’.
> 2019-12-10 16:17:03,214 : INFO : Thread-17 : : OAuthAuthenticator : : : Opening browser to perform authentication for ‘https://api.hub.knime.com’.

The URI that shows up in Chrome is:
http://127.0.0.1:58914/oauthredirectlistener?session_state=<key>
so I assume now that it’s entirely local (sorry @ScottF !) .
