unable to load workflow ... It is in use by another user/instance

hope this isn't trivial... Just starting to use Knime

I opened a few example workflows in Knime... than Knime crashed. After restart I can't open any of the workflows in my LOCAL (Local Workspace).

Some acient awt window (whow) pops up with the message:

unable to load workflow ... It is in use by another user/instance

best

I beleive the .knimeLock file causes this. You might try to delete it if present.

i ran into same issue and have tried to delete both .lock and .knimelock files. I get a message that is is used by another program.

I have all knime instances closed as I access my knime workflow/workspace from different machines.

Can you try rebooting machine, and then deleting the lock files before you start KNIME?
