Update Knime to 4.3 - self installing archive

Hi Guys,

sorry for the silly question - so far I am using knime 4.2.2 as self installing archive.

As such, it seems I cannot directly update to 4.3 (when I try to do it from the “update knime” function it results in an error.

So my question is how can I update my version to 4.3 using self intalling archive? I have not tried any solution yet deeply worried about losing all my workflows!!!

@MarioKnimer welcome to the KNIME forum. You will not loose all your workflows. Although it is always advised to have a solid backup strategy in place just in case something goes wrong.

Your workflows should ‘live’ in a different place than your installation. So you could switch out the KNIME program at any time and simply tell the ‘new’ KNIME program to use your current workflow path.

So you could just do a fresh installation of KNIME at any time in a new folder. And then the existing KNIME has an update function built in that should work within major releases. More on updates here:
