When attempting to install File_Install KNIME Extensions - repeated failure with below unreachable resources - cannot reach any of the target servers/content. Regardless of network or DNS, nothing is returning.
I do not believe it is a DNS/Routing issue on my side, it acts like the repository is offline. Please advise.
Thank you
Some sites could not be found. See the error log for more detail.
I am sorry for the trouble. Some more questions to hopefully nail it down:
Did this issue occur before when installing extensions? If yes, did anything change? Or is it the first time you install extensions?
And you are saying that even when trying to install the extension from outside of your corporate network, the install process results in the same error?
I asked and the best guess we have is that somewhere between your machine and our server there is an obstacle - if you can rule out proxy issues (if you confirm the point above), then maybe a firewall issue? Did you try it with another laptop with a different setting, e.g. different OS?
This is my first install. I have not installed on another laptop
Yes. Failure across multiple networks with various security postures.
I am not clear if there some type of âblack listâ issue or proxy issue or local Firewall on my laptop that could be causing this - i have opened a case with my IT Support team to investigate and advise
Any additional thoughts i can peruse given this information?
Ok: we have a laptop which could never reach the update sites
On that laptop the install process has been attempted from different networks, also ones without proxy and additional security measures (correct?) - without success
We do not know whether the laptop itself has some more rigorous security setup and
we do not know yet whether the install process would work with another machine, because it has not been attempted yet.
The fifth point should circumvent the issue, but I am still curious about the other points. If you find time to further pursue them, I would be interested in their results.
Tell me whether 5. works for you.
Best regards
Steffen
PS: just saw that @mlauber71 send the fifth point as well.
