Automate filling a form using KNIME

Hi everyone, I am trying to automate the filling up of an excel form using various raw data.

The form (Excel format) is of standard structure, and I wish for it to stay the same. When reading the form using the node, the format changes entirely. Is there a way for the raw data to flow into parts of the form where it should belong to?

For some context, I have cleaned up the descriptive/cost data. Just need for it to flow in. The raw data is ever-changing and will vary.

Specific value in a specific cell - Write to Excel

Hi friends, It’s possible to show a specific result into a specific cell on a table. Similar like this: I have a group by node [image] This is the result: [image] Then I will use another “Group by node” to sum this column [image] This is the result: [image] Then I want to show the result above in Excel Writer, inside de first “Group By” node, like this: Simulation: [image] It’s possible? Let’s say that if I had did that in VBA, I know it’s possible. What about Knime?

Would you be able to upload here an example (dummy) pre-formatted spreadsheet, and some sample data showing the kind of updating you wish to be able to do?

Also which version of KNIME are you using?

Yes, I think that the thread you have shared is indeed helpful. I am relatively new to Knime and would need to take some time to digest what you have shared!

I am currently using the version 5.4.0. Please find attached an example of the raw data, as well as the pre-formatted sheet + how the data should flow into the pre-formatted sheet.

I tried testing the formatting with the Excel reader/writer nodes to check if the pre-formatted sheet would stay in the same format, but to no avail.

Sorry, I haven’t had the time to look at my Knime workflow until now. I am wondering where I went wrong with the workflow you have kindly provided. I am looking for the data to flow in literally, but it seems like I have got something wrong.
