Binary Classification Inspector Node Suddenly Shuts Down

Hi,

I am trying to use Binary Classification Inspector Node. It executes well. But when I try to open the interactive view, the node suddenly shuts down. So I have not seen how the node works yet. What may I do to solve this problem? Is there a problem which I could not seen?

Thanks,
Murat

Hello @mozturkmen,

Could you tell me a little bit more about the conditions under which this error occurs? Specifically, what operating system and browser settings you are using with KNIME. (Are you using the bundled Chromium browser or SWT browser for example?) If you need help checking, let me know and I can tell you where to find these settings.

Also, are there any errors shown as popups when the view begins to open? You can also look in the KNIME console to see if there are any messages which could provide more information and link them here.

Lastly, if possible, attaching the workflow you are using would be very helpful so I can see if I can reproduce the error locally.

Thanks for the feedback; hopefully we can find the cause of the problem and get it fixed

Best,
Ben

Hi @blaney

I am on windows 10. This PC is my company’s PC. I am using chrome web browser as default brwoser. When I try to open interactive view, at first time inspector(or any other interactive view node) suddenly crashes. And when I try to open interactive view for the second or more time, I have get an error from chrome like this: “Chrome Automation Extension has crashed.”

I tried same interactive nodes from my personal PC at home. It worked without error. So, yesterday I disabled proxy on my work PC and tried again. I got the same error.

Sincerely,
Murat

Thank you for the information,

You mentioned that all of the other interactive view nodes also fail to open. Is this problem new with the 4.1 release (you’ve been able to open views with KNIME <4.1) or have you always experienced this problem with the interactive views? I think I may have a workaround for you, but I would like to look into the root cause of the problem and see if we can prevent this from happening in the future. Thanks in advance for your response.

Best,
Ben

Hi @blaney,

I think I am experiencing a similar error to Murat’s…the Binary Classification Inspector node executes fine, but when I try to open the view, I just get a blank window (with only the reset, apply and close buttons on the bottom right). The KNIME console has the following message after I try to open the view: “WARN WizardNodeView: Unable to retrieve value from view”. I am also using windows 10, and KNIME 4.5.0, with Chrome as my default web browser. I can execute other interactive view nodes (i.e. ROC curve) no problem, the issue seems specific to the Binary Classification Inspector node.

I could reproduce the error on my laptop with this workflow from Knimehub: H2O.ai AutoML (generic KNIME nodes) in KNIME for classification problems - a powerful auto-machine-learning framework – KNIME Hub

Perhaps I could try the workaround you were referring to in your last post?

Thanks,
Ryan
