Box Plot (Javascript) does not accept flow variable for generateImagemodel

Good day,
I want to control the image generation of a Box Plot (Javascript) node with a corresponding boolean flow variable. However, it seems that the node does not show any reaction to the flow variable provided by a Boolean Widget (see image). The node always only - as it seems - uses the value from the Options General Settings selection menu. I am wondering if this is a bug or if I do something wrong?

I confused Generate Image Model Variable with the GemerateImage variable that shows up only at the bottom of the list not at the top as one would assume the same order as in the Options tab for the configuration dialog.
