When we extract data in Knime using “Tableau writer Node” so when we save the file its in hyper mode.is there a way to extract data from KNIME to Tableau into twb files instead of hyper files? Is there a node available?See below for reference
Hi @ayesha_target,
The .hyper is the Tableau standard format for extract files which include the dataset you work with. On the other hand, .twb is for Tableau workbooks which include worksheets and dashboards. Even if you could export a .twb file, it would be a workbook with a single empty worksheet containing a dataset, right? Then what would be the use of this?
The purpose of extract data into Tableau is first to do the calculations then visualization.
What i am trying to do here is …i have monthly data that i need to add in KNIME then need to extract in Tableau so data can be updated Tableau.
Whenever i will add new excel in folder i would need to update KNIME when i update then i would need to update the nodes and execute them it does execute but only in hyper format Tableau not twb file. But my previous data is saved in TWB (Tableau work book) .Once the data is updated it wont get added in existing data that i saved previously…
I am not sure if i explained well enough.
Let me know if that helps answer your question?
Yes and I think you can use a live-to-Hyper connection, so by replacing the Hyper file you would have the changes in your workbook.
