According to the description in the Delete File/Folders note, there should be “a little bit” more options inside. Doesn’t look so - bug, bad UI design or something else? KNIME 4.3.3 on W10x64
Strange that the radio button for “Mode” is missing from the dialog. Here’s what the configuration dialog looks like in 4.4:
If you resize the dialog window manually does anything change? If not, maybe an upgrade to 4.4 gets you there.
Hi @ScottF , I tested earlier and can confirm what @Jrole said. That line with Mode, Filter options and Include subfolders does not appear in Knime 4.3.
Consequently, the node does not allow deletion of Folder, nor multiple files, but only one file at a time.
I re-opened the node so I can send you a screenshot (I purposely made the window big in case that line might be hidden):
Thanks. I was looking in our internal ticketing system to see if I could find a specific ticket that addresses this; so far I haven’t seen one, but it’s clearly working in 4.4, so my best guess right now is the way to fix this is to upgrade.
(I know a major focus of this release was fixing various issues with the file handling functionality across multiple nodes, and this would certainly fit that description )
Sorry to say @ScottF but I just installed 4.4 (fresh install as no upgrade is possible) and added the “Delete Files/Folders” node fresh to an existing project - looks still the same. Same if I use a fresh Workflow.
Maybe you can try and download this exampel:
The delete options are there under Windows 10. Maybe if this does not work you can give us further informations about you operating system and machine.
I just had a completly fresh install of Windows, Java and KNIME 4.4 and this behaviour is still there. So it’s definitly a bug, the question is only under which circumstances it appears.
Hello @Jrole,
actually in 4.4. you have Mode option while in 4.3.3 there wasn’t such option looking at your screenshots. And Filter options on the right shows only in case you select Files in folder option. Can you give it a try to see if everything now works as expected?
Br,
Ivan
Hi @ipazin, as mentioned above, the screenshot was already from 4.4 and on a second, fresh installation (completly new machine, new OS, new Java, new Knime). In the meantime we’re on 4.4.1 and this bug still exists. OS is always MS Windows, so if it works an Linux or MacOS, this could explain it. Otherwise: Is there a dependancy on the JRE which can lead to this behaviour?
It doesn’t help to add another screenshot as it still looks the same as above.
Hello @Jrole,
what I am saying is that last screenshot you shared looks fine (you have Mode option on it) and that filter options show up when you select Files in folder option. So the question seems to be is last screenshot from yours? If so I don’t see what is troubling you…
Br,
Ivan
Hi @Jrole , I am not sure I understand either what is the issue you are presenting.
Originally you explained the issue was that the Mode option was not there in 4.3.x, which you showed in your first screenshot, after which I also confirmed with a screenshow since I was also on 4.3.x.
After that you said you did a fresh installation of 4.4, and you showed a screenshot where the Mode option appears (post #7).
So, the Mode option issue is fixed in 4.4.x, no? I can see it in your own screenshot on post #7.
