I’ve just started using Knime. I tried connecting with the Exsamples Server via the Analytics Platform (version 4.3.2.). Everytime the error " Error while retrieving server information for login, probably because the server is not reachable." occurs.

Could it be that your network access is restricted? If are using a proxy, you can enter its details under File → Preferences → General → Network Connections (after setting the Active Provider to manual there).

Aha! Yes I can see something strange.
KNIME is set to use a proxy server (active provider = manual), but no server details (host/port(/auth)) are given. I should have clarified, that you need to tell it not only to use a proxy, but also where the proxy is.
Your IT department should have those details for you.
