Can not access KNIME examples server


I’ve just started using Knime. I tried connecting with the Exsamples Server via the Analytics Platform (version 4.3.2.). Everytime the error " Error while retrieving server information for login, probably because the server is not reachable." occurs.

How can I solve this problem ?

Could it be that your network access is restricted? If are using a proxy, you can enter its details under File → Preferences → General → Network Connections (after setting the Active Provider to manual there).

Maybe you could open one example workflow and try dragging it into your local workspace?


Yes it is really strange.

The dragging and dropping did not work either.

I can download the exercises from the hub directly into my local PC.

The connection issue is still a problem.

These are the Network Connections settings. Can you see anything that could cause the problem?

Aha! Yes I can see something strange.
KNIME is set to use a proxy server (active provider = manual), but no server details (host/port(/auth)) are given. I should have clarified, that you need to tell it not only to use a proxy, but also where the proxy is.

Your IT department should have those details for you.
