Cannot copy and paste workflow/nodes within same project

When selecting multiple nodes or even one node, I cannot copy and paste the nodes within the same project.

Error occurs when using both the keyboard shortcut and right-clicking to select the copy and paste field from the popup menu.

I have been using KNIME on PC prior to this and never encountered this issue however I just moved to Mac and this has been happening on and off since the switch.

Has anyone seen this before? Hoping its just some form of user error…

Hi @starboard_bill - I just updated my Mac Knime to 5.5.1 and I can copy / paste nodes in the same workflow. Can you give some further info, ie what version of Knime, all nodes or just specific nodes, Modern or Classic canvas?

I’m using 5.5.1 and when its not working, it seems to be any node. Modern canvas.

Thanks for the details. A few more things would help us narrow this down:

  • Which version of macOS are you running?

  • Does the issue happen consistently, or only sometimes ?

  • If you restart KNIME, does copy & paste start working again?

  • Do you also see this in the Classic canvas, or only in Modern?

This will help us reproduce the behavior more reliably.

    Sequoia 15.6.1

    Sometimes

  • If you restart KNIME, does copy & paste start working again?
    Yes

  • Do you also see this in the Classic canvas, or only in Modern?
    I haven’t tried it in Classic canvas so I don’t know
