Can't update KNIME from File menu

Every time I try to update KNIME from the File menu options I get, "'Contacting Software Sites' has encountered a problem.", and the error log shows :

"I/O error while checking for new update sites: www.knime.org"
"I/O error while checking for new update sites: udpate.knime.org"

My Internet connection is a bit flaky, but I'm not seeing anything like this outside of KNIME.

Should I just give up trying it from within the application?

Are the sites you have listed valid?

Help > Install New Software > Available software sites

KNIME Desktop - http://www.knime.org/update/2.11

Trusted community - http://tech.knime.org/update/community-contributions/trusted/2.11

Try unchecking ones that look wrong.
