Hi,
the new Constant Value Column Appender, when Fill value “missing” is enabled, converts the column type to string as it is the default value. Not quite ideal when another data type is ingested.
I’d like to suggest to auto-select the same data type to prevent non-native column types to get created i.e. when the column get re-appended.
PS: Adding to that, if a non-native column type is created, throwing a warning would help prevent a data-regression too.
