Custom format for how missing values are displayed

I’d love to be able to change how missing values are displayed. Often, missing values are not a problem per se, and I would like to focus on the data that is NOT missing, e.g., in a Table View node. However, the circled question mark in red draws a lot of attention to missing values instead of the not missing ones.

How about including an option in the Number Format Manager and the String Format Manager where the user can can choose to display missing values (without changing the column type) as empty cells or enter a custom format such as “[NULL]” in light gray font?

thanks for your feedback. There already is a similar request open in Missing Value: Add Option to convert to Null . Consider voting there.

We plan to add exactly that option to display a custom string instead of the icon (internal reference UIEXT-2199). Didn’t think about custom coloring yet.
