ECharts: Add Option to generate an Image

Hi,

I just realized that the new ECharts node lacks a major feature … generating an image´.

That missing feature basically makes it irrelevant for reporting as there is no “generally” available option to share the functionally versatile reports. Any chance to add this?

PS: This also makes it significantly less attractive to use the new node.

Hey Mike,

I assume you are talking about the new Generic ECharts node?
While it is true that this node currently lacks the image generation option, the node is already integrated into the reporting framework, meaning that it will show up in your reports if you include the View inside the report component.

What do you need the image port for?

HI @DanielBog,

correct, I meant the Generic ECharts node. I need the generate image option to save and share a single chart instead of a report which in my case consists of +40. It makes sharing details easier as it wouldn’t be necessary to extract that form the HTML or PDF report.

Hey Mike,

makes sense, thanks for the explanation. I reached out to the devs to see if we already have it planned and will open a ticket if that is not the case (internal reference UIEXT-1832).

Adding another use case…
We need ECharts images to generate our own reports, which needed to be explorted as Word document (as opposed to PDFs), since these documents will be later filled with additional information.
