Enhancement: Workflow Input - make ports dynamic to switch between table/flow variable etc

I was wrongly assuming that this existed already - right now you can only create workflow input nodes with other ports than table via workarounds as described here:

@MartinDDDD this is a tricky one. You will have to define the “Workflow Service Input” in the sub-workflow like this: You can not configure this right now at the ports of the node but have to drag the connection from the node before and then create the Workflow Service Input. There is a ticket to improve on that I think. And then adjust the port in the main workflow [image]

I would like to give this a +100, but can only vote once.

I spent hours to figure out how I could pass a variable through a workflow input node. As the description states “or any other port object“, I was assuming it would work, but I could not connect my variable to the table input using my node first, then connect approach. That you have to start connecting and add the node to the connection is a very easy solution, but not intuitive. Thank you for pointing me to this solution!
