Enhancing KNIME with AI-Powered Workflow Debugging

KAI, the AI in KNIME, is super useful for searching through documentation, but it’d be awesome to have an AI-powered assistant that could fix workflow failures. Imagine an AI that can view all the nodes in a workflow, track how they’re connected and configured, and step in to troubleshoot whenever a workflow crashes. Right now, KAI offers suggestions, but it doesn’t take the current workflow and its existing nodes into account, which can make it time-consuming to figure out what’s going wrong. I think adding this feature to KNIME would be incredible and a huge help to everyone. To me, having AI debug workflows and spot misconfigurations is even more valuable than using it to build them. Thanks for considering this—I absolutely love KNIME!

Hi @mmrostami

Rest assured, this is something we’re eagerly thinking about as well (and experimenting with). Things would get quite tricky if you have a workflow with hundreds of nodes, or with many deep abstraction levels hidden inside components, so there’s definitely some interesting engineering to be done in this space.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!
