Extension for OpenRouter use?

Hello,

Is there way or extension to use AI via OpenRouter (API) instead of OpenAI API?
I can use OpenAI models via OpenRouter, and other models too.

Hi @leinmi -

We have a ticket (HUB-11630) to add some OpenRouter functionality on the KNIME Hub, but it’s yet to be implemented. If you’d like to request a specific functionality, I can move this thread to Feedback & Ideas for people to vote on it.

I would second that idea, as OpenRouter is really like a bit of a marketplace. You can basically buy execution credits there and then choose from a lot of different models (Anthropic, OpenAI, Perplexity etc).

The big advantage is that you would be very flexible with one single node to …

  • use Anthropic Claude Opus 4.5 for e. g. more creative tasks like email writing
  • use OpenAI GPT 5.2 for user conversations
  • use Perplexity Pro Deep Research for some research tasks
