Extension is not there to be installed (Knime 5.8.0)

if i try FILE→Install Knime Extensions … there is no IMAGE Processing in any Form (i have tried a lot but i think it is not there).

Do someone has an idea how i get this work?

welcome to the KNIME forum.

I just checked on my 5.8.0 installation:

There is plenty of them in the Community Extensions channel.
Maybe you have to add the channel manually:

Add → Name –> adress: “https://update.knime.com/community-contributions/trusted/latest”

thank you so much - yes that was the trick. But nothing of these could be installed.
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.

Software being installed: KNIME Image Processing - Tess4J Integration 1.3.3.v202307241154 (org.knime.knip.tess4j.feature.feature.group 1.3.3.v202307241154)

Hi @hape65 , I can also confirm the same problem on my 5.8 (and 5.7) KNIME installation.

In comparison to 5.5 (LTS release), the “image processing” extensions seem to be limited:

Of particular note to me are the basic “KNIME Image Processing” and the “KNIME Image Processing - Python Extensions”

Hi @steffen_KNIME , I wonder if this is similar to the issue with the Continental nodes, or being community extensions they simply aren’t yet available in the STS releases?

Dear @atiorile, @rfeigel and @takbb, tl;dr: The nodes are back on trusted update site. I am sorry for the confusion. Thanks to @arbe, the maintainer of the Continental nodes in the last years, we have these nodes in our ecosystem. As we now took over the extension it was some work to integrate it. That is resolved: It is on the trusted update sites again, the Hub page of the now renamed XLS Formatting & Utilities (former Continental nodes) is reflecting the correct state again. Sorry again …

so i’m new to knime it seems not a good idea to take 5.8.0. Should i deinstall it or is it possible to downgrade?

I’m facing the same issue with KNIME version 5.8.0. I’m trying to install the Geospatial Analytics Extension but I cannot select it in the installation window. I’ve already tried dragging the extension into the canvas (nothing happens) and I have enabled experimental extensions . Hints on how to fix it are very much appreciated!

so it seems that in this software is a great bug, Does anyone know if this would be solved or if we as a company buy it the money is thrown away and no one is interested in solving this bug?

Hi @hape65 and @J_R,

We’re very sorry that you ran into these issues. We noticed that the latest update sites were redirecting to an older KNIME version for a couple of days, and I think that you might have run into those.

I just now took a fresh 5.8 and installed Geospatial as well as Image Processing (from the latest update site) and both worked like a charm.
